Hello,
Welcome to Nancy Grew!
I have recently become aware of the power and value of story telling. It is not giving advice, but rather revealing your life experience and allowing others to take from it what they will and leave the rest behind.
For many years I have dreamed about sharing my experiences with others by creating a blog. I am passionate about living as close to nature as possible and doing my best to limit our family's exposure to the dangerous chemicals we find everywhere in our lives. I have learned about the toxins in the food we eat, the water we drink, the medicine prescribed to us, and in our grooming and cleaning products
With our children grown we now have the time and energy to create a homestead (of sorts) that makes our home a place of production rather than just consumption. I feel so comforted knowing that much of our food and medicine comes directly from our backyard. Our harvest season begins in March when we tap the maple trees and ends in the fall when we dig medicinal roots like dandelion and yellow dock and put our winter apples into the root cellar for storage.
I am excited to share this way of life with you as we make our way through each season. Thanks for joining me as we start the harvest season of 2014.
And remember to take from these pages the ideas you find helpful and apply them in a way that best fits your life circumstances.
